Osho Sannyasins refers to that group of people who very inspired by Osho and chose to be initiated by Osho as His disciples. They were also known as neo-sannyasins or simply sannyasins. Osho sannyasins were previously known as Rajneeshees or Orange People as well, primarily due to their orange, red, pink or maroon clothes that lasted until 1985. The Osho Sannyasins were the leading people who started the Rajneesh Movement.
When it started during 1970 to 1980, Osho's non-acceptance and frequent denouncement of the traditions and customs of India caused a lot of controversy. The same process took place in USA as well when he relocated there in Oregon. In fact, in the USSR, the Rajneesh Movement was outright banned for being in stark contrast to the positive aspects of Indian culture and announced them to be detrimental for the development of the youth of these countries.
Osho was considered to be overthrowing the positive aspects of the Indian culture. He was often portrayed as a conservative religious activist of the exploitative bourgeoisie class of India. He was also believed to be endorsing and encouraging the development of ideas of consumerism in the Indian society, under the disguise of Hinduism.
However, over time, Osho's radical views and teachings gathered acceptance. His teachings and lectures are now available as Osho videos for everyone to benefit. Osho videos are also very beneficial for those who want to practice mediation. Osho videos of mediation stream videos of the various types of meditation that Osho taught.
